Kinja'd!!!

Came across this in the parking lot of a pool/community center we went to today.

There was no one in the parking lot, no one in sight.

There were booster seats in the back, so I assume the parent was too busy gathering up the gear to go to the pool and didn't even notice that Jr didn't close his door. The entrance to the park is behind the white SUV in the background.

Results: "Close It" won at 76%

I would say make a "lights on" announcement would be better. Open door might attract the more unscrupulous members of the pool...

E. Hurl everything in sight into it.

F. Remove the rear seat, and replace it with leaves.

G. Scream at the top of your lungs, when people run over to you tell them that the door is open on the car.

I'd go with option four: "Would the owner of the [Insert car here] license plate number [insert number here] please report to the [location of officials/employees]" Meanwhile I'm standing at their car with a concerned face waiting for the owner.

Close it, but don't touch the car with a part of the body that would leave fingerprints, just in case it's a crime scene. Put your hand inside your shirt, or bump it with your hip.

Camera pans right:

A family watches, mystified, as a man takes a picture of their car.

The wife nudges the husband and he confronts the man

"Can I help you sir?"

startled he turns and responds

"Oh, I found this car with it's door open and I'm consulting the internet on how best to proceed. Won't be long now."

Esmeralda begins to cry.

Sit inside.

Wait for family to return.

When they approach, greet them with a simple "'Sup".

My friends and I were walking back from a bar late one night and came across a car with the trunk open. We did the responsible thing....

we grabbed a bunch of traffic cones, filled up the trunk and then closed it.

That explains why my trunk was filled with traffic cones.

I usually do. But then one day my neighbour really pissed me off. And left his car door open. I thought "meh" and left it open all night. It was also minus 9F out so I didnt feel like getting out of my pjs to suit up to go close it.

Also since you live in Nebraska (although I don't really know where) I thought I would tell you this. Sometimes one of our delivery vehicles makes a stop in Council Bluffs Iowa. We now refer to council bluffs as Iowa-haw. (Since it's the Iowa side of Omahaha)

We're idiots. lol.
